Have you heard about Michael J. Sandel? He has written the bestselling book ‘What Money Can’t Buy – The moral limits of markets’ and will be in Holland for the first time on the 24th of May in 2012!! CBE Academica is hosting the event, and added lots of big Dutch names in the financial, social and political arena. For example: Alexander Rinnooy Kan, Saskia Stuiveling, Ab Klink, Goos Minderman, Sywert van Lienden and Jeroen Smit. You can check michael-sandel.nl for more info!
CBE Academica asked Trigger Tribe to help out and come up with some creative ideas to incorporate social media in the communication of the event. Arne Mosselman and Ludo Keizer will be on the job to trigger!

Trigger Tribe started working with the innovators of the Dutch Tax Agency last year, and we are happy they asked us to come by again. This time because the new generation of innovators have organized a very cool event (app battle) with people from the Tax Agency and independent young developers!
This is exactly a type of event that fits the attitude that we tried to develop last year
So on the 25th of February, Omar Kbiri will represent Trigger Tribe and checks out the event to do some informal trigger-sessions with participants. Bam!
Activational story @ congres ‘Youth Work New Style’

On the 8th of October 2011, the event and book presentation of ‘Youth Work New Style’ was organized in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. To set the energy and state of mind for this congres, Ludo did a trigger-session (check out his Prezi). This is what he had to say:
“To me, it was important to get the message across that it’s time to break the locks and start thinking outside the box. Youth work needs to address the changing world with an openmindedness, and that might as well even be returning to older values like great personal contact. It’s not about the old OR the new style, passion OR paying a morgage: let’s think win-win! This is a tribute to Jamy Rodemeyer, because his story shows how much we need to step our game up to prevent awful things like his suicide to happen! ‘It gets better‘ starts with us… If even T-Mobile can change our feelings about them, we should be able to make things happen like those kids from Thailand. Let’s NOT look at what’s not possible, if they can play soccer on water!”
Activational design @ AkzoNobel Leadership Journey (India)

In January en February of 2011 you could have found Ludo somewhere in the desert of Rajasthan, India. He wasn’t there for a personal retreat, but – believe it or not – he was working! For The Future Firm, he designed and facilitated a leadership journey for a global management team of AkzoNobel, in cooperation with the Oxford Leadership Academy. It is probably a good thing that he literally had to bite the dust for a couple of weeks
Now, half a year later, this is how he looks back on it:
“It was an unbelievable experience to work in India with local people and even nomads, to get this project done. It was a huge challenge to get all the logistics in place for this once only event. Working with my drawings really helped a lot! To me, the biggest reward was to match the needs of local people with the needs for the project. Closing the journey on a rooftop of a local family – instead of a 5 star location – was a perfect example how I tried to do that. It was a blessing to work with Gijs Pothof and Brian Bacon and to learn from them about leadership. The journey was of a very high level and I fell in love with India, so in one word: awesome!”
Live Activation – innovators @ Dutch Tax Agency (#wvdi)

The Dutch Tax Administration has about 3000 people working for their IT department. 5 of them got the amazing opportunity to become ‘innovator’ for half a year. Which basically means that they can focus on an idea and a journey helping to innovate their personal skills, as well as the department. Today – during ‘The Week Of Inspiration‘ – they presented their story. And they did well!! Trigger Tribe helped out with creating the story and the presentations. A video was shot (by Provibe Media) as an invitation, in which we engaged the people of the department. Hopefully, we can share the video soon.
The term ‘Smilestones’ was introduced, to really pinpoint a moment of sharing. Because milestones of innovation should be celebrated with a smile!
In the past weeks, as well as in the venue of the weeklong event, you will find little ‘smilestones’ on your path. In the future, more to come!

Tena Kebena is a youth organization from Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. They live and work in urban areas with disadvantaged kids, and do amazing work! Especially the urban gardening on former dumping grounds and AIDS awareness projects stand out. Trigger Tribe has been supporting Tena Kebena since we met in 2008, and we will do more in the future. Check out the video below and we are glad to help out if you want to support this group of active youngsters!
Disruptive Activation – EuroDig, Council of Europe (2011)

Trigger Tribe was invited by the Council of Europe to come to Belgrade, Serbia for the 4th edition of EuroDig. The days before this conference, the New Media Summer School was organized by AEGEE, YEU, EYP, JEF, Council of Europe and YFJ. This event took place in order to get more young people involved in EuroDig. It was our job – at both events – to ‘trigger’: to wake people up and to sharpen the discussion. To ask the questions others don’t. To be disruptive in a constructive way!
You can look for the results of the New Media Summer School on the website! Check out hashtags #Eurodig and #NMSS11 on Twitter for more additional info
